Feno-Fast  (FILM COATED TABLETS)
Antihistamine

COMPOSITION:
Each film coated tablet contains 120, or 180mg Fexofenadine HCl.

PROPERTIES:
FENO-FAST is a non-sedating H1antihistamine. FENO-FAST is a pharmacologically active metabolite of terfenadine, has long lasting activity, which does not have sedative and anticholinergic effects at the recommended dosage. Clinical trials have shown no evidence of cardiotoxicity, even at doses higher than those recommended.
FENO-FAST inhibited antigen-induced bronchospasm and in addition to its actions on stabilizing of mast cell. FENO-FAST does not cross the blood brain barrier. It has shown to have no significant effects on central nervous system function. This means that patients may drive or perform tasks that require concentration.

INDICATIONS:
FENO-FAST in dose of 120mg is indicated for symptomatic treatment of seasonal allergic rhinitis, and in dose of 180mg for symptomatic treatment of chronic idiopathic urticaria.

DOSAGE:
This drug is for use only in adults (and children over 12 years old).
Seasonal allergic rhinitis: 120mg once daily.
Chronic idiopathic urticaria: 180mg once daily.
Elderly, renally or hepatically impaired patients, should administered the drug with care.

SIDE EFFECTS:           
It may cause headache, dry mouth, dizziness, nausea, or hypersensitivity reactions.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Hypersensitivity to the drug.

DRUG INTERACTIONS:
The drug does not interact with other drugs through hepatic mechanism. Erythromycin or ketoconazole increased bioavailability of the drug. Aluminum and Magnesium antacids decreased gastrointestinal absorption of the drug, therefore, at least 2 hours apart between antacids and taking the drug.

USE IN PREGNANCY OR LACTATION:
The drug is not recommended for use in pregnancy or lactation.

ABSORPTION AND ELIMINATION:
The drug is rapidly absorbed into the body following oral administration, with Tmax occurring at approximately 1–3 hours post dose. The drug is bound with plasma proteins about 60–70%. Elimination half-life ranges 11–15 hours.

PRESENTATION:
