Each 1ml Solution contains 5.12mg of levofloxacin hemihydrate, equivalent to 5mg levofloxacin.
Mechanism of action:
Levofloxacin belongs to a quinolone antibiotic, and kills a wide variety of bacteria that cause infection. Levofloxacin works by entering the bacterial cells and inhibiting a bacterial enzyme known as DNA-gyrase. This enzyme is essential for bacteria to replicate and repair the genetic material (DNA). Levofloxacin is effective against gram positive bacteria: Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pneumonia, Streptococcus pyogenes, and gram negative bacteria: Moraxella catarrhlis, Haemophilus influenza, Neisseria gonorrhea, Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
Floxamina is used to treat eye infections caused by levofloxacin susceptible microorganisms. Floxamina can be used to treat the purulent complications after ocular surgery.
For all ages, 1–2 drops in the affected eye(s) every two to four hours for the first two days and then four times daily. The length of treatment should not exceed ten days.
It may cause: Itching, burning, stinging, irritation, headache, painful sensation in the eye, eyelid edema, blepharitis, rhinitis, dermatitis.

Use in pregnancy or lactation:
Pregnancy category C, Levofloxacin should be used during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus. Caution should be exercised when Floxamina is administered to nursing mothers.
