Composition:
Each 100g Cream contains 2g Fusidic Acid and 1g Hydrocortisone Acetate.
Mechanism of Action:
Fucedex Cort has a potent anti-bacterial action of fucidic acid with anti-inflammatory and anti-pruritic effects of hydrocortisone.
Fucedex Cort is effective against staphylococcus aureus, streptococci, corynobacteria, neisseria and clostridia.
Indications:
Fucedex Cort is indicated in eczema and dermatitis with secondary bacterial infections, including atopic eczema, primary irritant dermatitis, allergic, and seborrhoeic dermatitis.
Usage:
Apply a small quantity 3 – 4 times daily in uncovered lesions and less frequent application is adequate in covered lesions.
Side - Effects:
Rarely mild irritation, and prolonged treatment may cause local atrophic on skin.
Contra - Indications:
Infections caused by pseudomonas aeroginosa, or viral skin infection, or hypersensitivity to fucidate.
Precautions:
It should not be used near the eye, as it may cause conjunctiva irritation. Long treatment should be avoided.
It is used with caution in infants.
Resistance against Fucidate:
It is low in staphylococcus aureus. Fucedex Cort exhibits no cross resistance with other antibiotics.
Use in Pregnancy or Lactation:
It should be used with caution in pregnancy or lactation.
