COMPOSITION :

Each 100g Daktazol oral gel contains 2g Miconazole Base.

MECHANISM OF ACTION:

Daktazol Oral gel contains one synthetic derivatives of imidazole, the anti-fungal agent miconazole, which has a broad - spectrum activity against all of fungi, also against gram-positive bacteria (staphylococcus & streptococcus).

INDICATIONS:

Daktazol Oral gel is indicated for treatment of candidiasis of the oral and gastro-intestinal tract, which is mixed with gram-positive bacteria. Such as these cases:

• Buccal mycosis.
• Oral thrush.
• Elimination of candida from gastro - intestinal tract.
• Daktazol is used for the prophylaxis immuno compromised patients.

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION:

Daktazol Oral gel should be taken in a dose of 15mg/kg daily after meals divided into several doses.

Note that each 5ml Daktazol Oral gel contains 125mg Miconazole Base.

• In case of gastro – intestinal tract:

Adults: 1 – 2 tablespoons 4 times daily.

Children: 1 tablespoon twice daily.

Children under 2 years: 1 teaspoon twice daily.

• For localized lesions of the mouth:

The same amount mentioned above should be applied directly to affected area with a clean finger.

To obtain best results in treatment, Daktazol Oral gel should be kept in contact with affected area for longest possible time. Treatment should be continued for up to two days after disappearance of symptoms.

SIDE EFFECTS:

It may cause local irritation and nausea.

USE IN PREGNANCY:

It is not recommendable for use in pregnancy.
