Composition:
Each 100g Kenazol Cream contains 2g Ketoconazole.
Indications:
Kenazol Cream is a synthetic broad spectrum antifungal. It is indicated for topical application for treatment of:
usage and treatment duration:
Apply Kenazol Cream to the affected area 1 - 2 times daily, depending on the severity of infection. Treatment should be continued for few days after disappearance of all signs and symptoms.
Usual treatment duration is as followed:
Tinea Corporis: 3 - 4 weeks.
Tinea Pedis: 4 - 6 weeks.
Pityriasis Versicolor: 2 - 3 weeks.
Seborrhoeic Dermatitis: 4 weeks.
Seborrhoeic dermatitis in a chronic condition and relapse is very likely. In case a potent topical corticosteroid has been used previously in treatment of Seborrhoeic dermatitis, a recovery period of 2 weeks should be allowed, before using Kenazol Cream due to possibility of skin sensitization if no recovery period has be allowed.
The diagnosis should be reconsidered if no clinical improvement is noted after 4 weeks.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to Ketoconazole.
side effects:
A few instances of irritation and burning sensation.
Use in Pregnancy:
It should only be used in pregnant women if its use is considered essential, as it is not systematically absorbed after topical application.
warning:
It can not be used for optical infections.
