COMPOSITION:

Each 1g Kenazol Shampoo contains 20mg ketoconazole.

INDICATIONS:

KENAZOL shampoo has a potent activity against pathogenic dermatophytes and yeasts including pityrosporon Spp. KENAZOL shampoo is used in:

• The treatment and protection of seborrhoeic dermatitis in head scalp. It rapidly relieves the scaling and pruritus usually associated with such dermatitis.
• The treatment of pityriasis versicolor.
• The treatment of Pityriasis capitis.

USAGE:

Hair (or the affected areas of the skin) should be rubbed thoroughly with KENAZOL shampoo and must be left with contact of skin for 3 - 5 minutes, then rinsed with water adequately.

The period of treatment in :

Pityriasis versicolor: once daily for 5 days.

Seborrhoeic dermatitis and dandruff: twice weekly for 2 - 4 weeks.

The period of protection in :

Pityriasis versicolor: once daily for 3 days in a single treatment course before exposure to sunshine.

Seborrhoeic dermatitis and dandruff: once every 1 - 2 weeks.

CONTRAINDICATIONS:

Hypersensitivity to ketoconazole or to any ingredients.

SIDE EFFECTS:

Irritation has been reported rarely.

PRECAUTIONS:

- Irritation may occur when KENAZOL shampoo is used immediately after prolonged treatment with topical corticosteroides on the same area. Therefore it is recommended to wait about 2 weeks after stopping treatment with topical corticosteroides before using KENAZOL shampoo.

- Keep out of the eyes, If KENAZOL shampoo got into the eyes, they should be washed with water.

USE IN PREGNANCY AND LACTATION:

No ketoconazole is detected in plasma following topical administration, but care should be taken.
